The Hawaiian Comic Book Alliance, founded by Sam Campos, was a group of independent creators who worked together to cultivate the comic book culture in Hawaii from 2015 to 2021. Over the years, they worked with various artists, publishers, retailers, organizers and media to draw attention to local and transplanted local publishers, nurturing a philosophy of cooperation over competition. With all of the organization's short and long term goals met by January 2021, the group decided to shed its exclusive nature as its fundamental ideals have always leaned toward inclusivity and community orientation.
