Steampunk Hawaii is an eclectic group of cosplayers, crafters, tinkerers, and creative dreamers on the island of Oahu in Hawaii, united by a common fascination with the Steampunk genre, fashion and culture. Community stand outs Roy Chang and Tracy Chan will be joined by two of the most prominent Steampunk personalities working in the comic con field- Lady Mechinka creator Joe Benitez, with Costumer Tia Markie.

From Robotech, Gundam, and Transformers to Godzilla, Mothra and even King Kong, giant robots and massive monsters wreaking havoc on cities, planets, and entire galaxies has long been a subject of fascination in pop culture. Join Shogun Knight creator Mat Nastos, Hasbro storyboard artist Rick Hoberg, Ara-Rangers creator Jon Murakami and IDW Transformers artist Livio Ramondelli to discuss the evolution of the genre and why we love it so much.

Film Panel By Sam Campos presented by Wayward Nerd : “From Comics to Film”, Sam Campos explains the process of how being a comic book artist is like being an entire movie studio. He will be sharing stories of his journey from comic book artist to Director and filmmaker. Sam will be providing tips on everything from how to draw, story boards,costume design and giving an Amazing Hawaii Comic Con EXCLUSIVE preview to his up-coming project, “Kamenkaze: Acceptable Losses.” You will leave with a new look at the possibility of bringing your own creations to life.
